We all know that backlinks are the blood of any website and we all need them very badly for Ranking and traffic.

First, I’ve to introduce you to some critical facts about backlinks.

There are a couple of principles that pertain to backlinks that I would like to cover first before I go into how to get a link on a page rank 10 website. The first is that there is a fallacy that abounds regarding backlinks. That fallacy goes something like this: “The website carries High Page Rank, but the place I am leaving my link is on a low or non-existent Page Rank “inner page”. I won’t get a good backlink this way. While this may be true with a few websites, for the most part, this is COMPLETELY FALSE!! In almost every case, the webmaster is given at least one credit for having a backlink from the website’s main, High Page Rank page.

However, I know for a fact that this author will get credit for the PR 6 ranked backlink of Ezinearticles.com’s main index page, just as I have gotten for my articles that are posted on this same article directory. This is true for dozens more websites I could name; although the place that a webmaster leaves his link is an “inner page”, the website owner gains a backlink from the site’s main, High PR ‘index’ page. I’ve seen it happen over and over and over.
The main exception to this rule is when one stand-alone website is linked to another stand-alone website that carries High PR. For instance, if you were to go http://www.yale.edu, you would find that it carries a Page Rank of 9. However, IF (and I don’t believe it does, but if it did) Yale had blogs or forums linked to their site, you would want to check the actual Page Rank of the blogs or forums themselves, as they may be personal blogs and/or forums and may not carry the PR 9 that Yale’s main site carries.
